EAL is looking for an enthusiastic Scientific Consultant to support our Sales Team and be the scientific face in our brand new office in the heart of Boston, MA!
Our Scientific Consultant will have the opportunity to be our internal and external expert on the use of our R&D digitization solution, RheoCube. The role entails working in a dynamic, hybrid and client-facing role.
You bring your expertise in experimental chemistry and have an intrinsic motivation for approaching experimental science through the use of simulations. As you'll be one of the first Scientific Consultants in our USA office, you will have many opportunities for growth, such as expanding our Science Team alongside our growing USA client base.
The day to day duties will include advising our prospects on the exciting digital transformation they will experience as a research team. You will be the first scientific point of contact for large corporations who are looking to implement RheoCube as a digital R&D solution. You will work side-by-side with our commercial team on the ground in Boston, MA and colleagues abroad in Amsterdam (NL) where you will support our sales efforts with your scientific background.
Aside from being the scientific sales support, you will be working directly with the software RheoCube. For example, you will pinpoint the physical processes that occur in systems that our future clients work with, as well as creating new use cases that will appeal to them.

Electric Ant Lab (EAL) is a scientific simulation software company headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. As the organization is scaling up and our team is expanding, we're opening a USA office in Boston, MA in September 2022. Our clients are chemistry focused R&D scientists working at leading industrial and multi-national companies. They use our simulation models and browser-based software, RheoCube, to explore and further their R&D capabilities to make smarter decisions for innovative product development. RheoCube is the first and only complex fluids simulation software specifically designed for experimental scientists.
Our Science Team is the scientific client-facing group within Electric Ant Lab. This team consists of chemical scientists whose valuable client support and input all contribute toward RheoCube being a success. The Scientific Consultants have a hybrid role between research and scientific customer support. Not all of our clients are familiar with simulations, let alone working with software as an addition to their daily work in the physical lab. It’s up to the Scientific Consultants to help clients bridge this gap and allow them to solve complex problems using RheoCube.

First and foremost you should be an experimental scientist with a genuine interest or some experience with simulations and experience with rheology (experimental or theoretical). Candidates with the following credentials and profile are desired:
PhD (Physical) Chemistry, and 3+ years of industry experience
Understanding of complex fluids
Understanding of physical (chemical)/colloidal interactions on the micro and nano scale
Interest in practical problems and ability to translate them into a plan of action
Able to translate scientific jargon into general language
Interested in working at a growing company where you can have a big impact
A bonus would be (some) experience with:
Simulations (e.g. university course, internship, thesis work)
Consulting experience (internal or external clients)
Taking care of a unicorn as a pet
