Electric Ant Lab (EAL) is hiring for a Scientific Consultant, with expertise in chemistry and complex fluids. This is a real chance to be at the forefront of the transition towards a more digital R&D.
Our new Scientific Consultant will ideally have a passion for creative problem solving and will be able to work autonomously as well as within a team. You love to interact with new people and get energy from a diverse work week. We are specifically looking for chemists with an experimental background in the area of complex fluid flow (eg. emulsion formation, suspension rheology, etc). Experience in the chemical industry or with scientific simulations is a prerequisite.
EAL is a VC-backed simulation software company located at Amsterdam Science Park. Chemistry-focused R&D scientists at large corporations are a key part of our customer base. Our primary product is RheoCube: a cloud-based virtual lab and simulation platform. It is designed to offer a researcher-friendly alternative to the physical lab approach of trial-and-error, often used for prototyping new products and for applied material research.

PhD or MSc in experimental Chemistry
Strong interest in simulations
Experience with complex fluids, preferably emulsions or colloidal suspensions
Understanding of flow in complex fluids (e.g. rheology, emulsion formation)
Understanding of physical (chemical)/colloidal interactions
Interest in practical problems and ability to translate them into a plan of action
Able to translate scientific jargon into general language
Flexible and pro-active attitude
Prior work experience in the chemical industry
Experience with simulations
Client relations/consulting experience
